This year’s Oral History Showcase is a must-see event.
We will be showing video clips from interview recordings of five Asbury leaders who shared with us their journeys through life.
The 2022 interviews feature Rev. Dr. Ianther Mills, Rev. Dr. Eugene Matthews, Rev. Dr. Louis Shockley, longtime worship chair Ruth Scarbrough and minister of music Everett Williams. The showcase will include personal stories of African American, national and D.C. area history.
You will be able to reminisce with the narrators as they talk about Asbury’s influence in the community and their work in and beyond the church. You will learn about astonishing, inspiring and amusing events in the life of these narrators that you probably did not know. You will even have a chance to talk to the narrators about their stories. You really should not miss this.
To get the Zoom link for the discussion, please send an email to communications@asburyumcdc.org with the subject line “ORAL HISTORY SHOWCASE.”
